Joelle Sahar is a Lebanese L.A.-based Singer-Songwriter & Composer, specializing in genres, (Pop, Musical Theater, and Arabian). When she began playing piano at age 3, who was taught by her violinist father Joseph Chamaa, she eventually fell in love with writing music during her teens. After graduating from Cal State Long Beach in Music Composition, she founded Music She Wrote Productions, specializing in commercial pop, film music, musical theater, Middle-Eastern, and live entertainment events.

She had the opportunity to work with Miles Copeland (Sting, the Police, Bangles, REM), as she was the brainchild of the Bellydance Superstars. She also became the Executive Producer for all their 12 compilation albums through Universal Music, which featured her bellydance songs “Drama Queen” and “Rakset Dala’a” that gained international recognition. Hailed as "The next Riverdance" by Sunday Times London, and called a “must-see” by Rolling Stone, the Bellydance Superstars performed over 800 shows in 25 countries to over 1 million ticket buyers, including the 45-city Lollapalooza Rock Tour, and the World Peace Music Awards in Bali and more than 60 TV shows, which included (Jimmy Kimmel Live, FOX, CBS, ABC, NBC, KTLA, MTV, CNN) as well as store promotions at Virgin and Capezio stores. They were also featured on PBS, and on Live with Kelly and Michael (ABC). The tours have been presented by William Morris Agency and AEG Presents, with sponsors by MAC Cosmetics, Estee Lauder, Capezio, and Paul Mitchell.

Her Middle-Eastern ethereal chanting grabbed the attention of The Killers, and became the opening for their concert tour. Her other love for crossover pop and Musical theater has taken a turn to work on a full-length musical “HOLLYWOOD GHOST STORY” based on the true haunting in Hollywood at the famous Barney’s Beanery in West Hollywood, set to premiere at the Hollywood Fringe Festival for 6 dates in June 2023.

With songs featured in the film “American Hustle”, and on Warner Music Groups’s compilation “Colors of Pop” which released in Spring 2022, her catalog also keeps growing in several music libraries, including Universal Production Music (Universal Music) and Chai Time Studios. As part of her sync projects and licensing projects, her credits include songs “I hear the Voices” on CBS, “Party on the Beach” on NBC, as well as Big Sync Music, Licked, and Twitch. In addition to her sync credits, Sahar has experience in composing for live entertainment events, mainly due to her performance background.

Her proudest achievement was the ceiling she broke in a genre completely dominated by men, and became the first female to ever write original belly dance music.

Sahar is also part of a female songwriting trio “The Fan Club”, a collective music camp that focuses exclusively on sync and artist projects. She works on today’s constantly changing sounds, not losing focus on the importance of her Arabian roots. Her love for creating music goes on!
